The most instagrammable boutique cafe in London

Hello to you! You may have wondered what I got up to last weekend especially if you have been snooping around on my instagram page as it’s very pink to say the least.

On Saturday morning, representing Luxuria Lifestyle, I headed over to the most instagrammable cafe everyone has been talking about. Elan Cafe shouldn’t just be renown for its iconic flower wall and it’s picturesque and flowery decor but also for its unique and elegant menu. So let me tell you about Elan.

About Elan:

Elan Cafe was founded Alexandra Miller only recently. Her love and passion for Elan is truly visible and it is embedded within the petals on the wall. Alexandra’s attention to detail is visible from the moment you step through Elan Cafes doors. From its Blossom trees to the elegantly laid cupcakes and slices of mouth-watering goodness across white marble tops- you really get a sense of Home coming. The smell of fresh pastry fills the air with sweet aromas.

It’s a bloggers dream. Yes I said it. If you fancy taking a few snaps you aren’t short of choice for a backdrop. We were very lucky to sit against the iconic flower wall but other back drops such as hundreds of takeaway coffee cups with little quotes across the front of them were just as dreamy.

Food:

Elan isn’t short for food choice as it caters for gluten free and also those who are vegan. A big tick if you ask me. Each dish is styled beautifully with a contemporary finish. There is an art to the final piece as Edible flowers are sprinkled over the top and intricate patterns are intertwined within the froth of Ruby Lattes.

I opted for a sweet and savoury dish to maximise my palettes taste buds and to really get a feel of the chefs style.

  • Avocado on toasted Sour dough bread, flaked hot smoked salmon and poach eggs.

The avocado was fresh creamy, perfectly ripe and unlike other cafes, they weren’t afraid to layer it into the freshly toasted sough dough. The poached eggs were show offs as they oozed richness with a bright orange yolk. The smoked salmon seemed as if a river run out the back of the cafe and was cut and smoked right on he door step.

  • Açai bowl with banana, passion fruit, pomegranates and gluten free coconut and granola.

Presented like no other, this Bali themed breakfast desert was made of dreams. The banana complimented the granola and coconut flakes so well it flooded a beaming smile across my face with each scoop that entered my mouth. The red berry smoothie was a perfectly blended sauce. I have a craving for anything sweet so this was just divine.

Both dishes were faultless and each was presented with a unique and chic style.

Other food choices: A range of Açai bowls, hot breakfasts, roasts, flat breads, sweets, sharing platters, bites, soups, plates and desserts.

Drink:

The drinks were something out of Charlie and the chocolate factory.

  • Hot Chocolate:

There is a selection of hot chcolate you can chose from. Praline, Nutella, Chilli, dark, milk and white.

My choice was recommended to me by the waitress and an exquisite choice she made! Nutella hot chocolate. This has to be the best hot chocolate I have encountered. Ever. I’d like to think that I can have a go at making this at home but I don’t think it will live up to the sweet and creamy taste set in my memory. Kind of fancy one now actually…

  • Raspberry and Blackcurrant smoothie:

A heavenly sweet concoction which tasted like it should give you a guilt trip once drinking but it’s safe to say I could have tried the whole smoothie menu. Hats of to the chefs downstairs.

Other drinks include a range of: Ice teas, Smoothies, Fresh coffees, alternative Lattes, Frappes and freshly squeezed juices.

Service:

This was an absolute 10/10. With the queue building up fast at the front door the whole team at Brompton Road were on their feet and all hands on deck at all times. They kept the elegant and relaxing ethos stable throughout the room which in turn made our time having brunch at Elan Cafe one of the most enjoyable experiences to date.

Tips is you are planning a visit:

  • If you can, visit Elan during the week when it doesn’t get as busy. Its popularity already makes getting a table over the weekend very difficult. If you are visiting over the weekend, early morning from 8am is best where we skipped the queues outside. Queues vary but when we arrived it started getting busy at 10:30am.
  • Nearest tubes South Kensington is about an 8 minute walk.

Best photo spots:

  • The blossom tree
  • The flower wall located to the very back
  • The Coffee cup wall located at the middle/back
  • The white marble tops are perfect for table lays and great when taking shots of the food.
  • The green and pink velvet sofas positioned out the back
  • The Elan Cafe canvassing at the shops front

Let me guess, I now have you at the edge of your seats wanting to book your train ticket for the next possible opportunity to step through the doors of Elan Cafe. So I’ll see you there next week?

‘GET THE GLOW GLYCOLIC PEEL’

Hey you, what a lovely surprise to see you back at the Lovelace diary again!

A few of you have commented on my Instagram about my skin being pretty glowy recently so I thought I would share with you one of my little secrets as to how I keep my skin appearing so fresh in all this groggy London air.

It’s only recently that I found out about this sensational skin peel that my skin feels as if it has a new shed of life (pardon the pun). Dr Krystyna is to thank for this.

Cosmetic Dentist & Facial Aesthetician.

What is a Glycolic skin peel?

Now this is no facial, don’t get me wrong, when I lay down on the treatment bed I initially thought it would be your typical bog standard face massage, room scents and facial oils, so I was in for a treat when I found out what was really install.

The peel works by gradually peeling old/dead skin cells away from the top layer of your skin. All those commuting days you spend on the tube and in Londons polluted streets you can kiss goodbye. Gradually, you feel the Glycolic peel working it’s magic as it tingles your skin and fizzes away all the bad skin cells and in return helps stimulate the growth of new skin cells. But don’t worry! The tingling on your face is skin friendly. I have super sensitive skin so naturally I was a little nervous to try the peel but it has worked wonders.

But what’s the point of this peel you ask?Well In glad you have because I did to and I was so shocked at how much healthier my skin felt afterwards. The peel gently exfoliates a thin layer of your skin off which, as mentioned above, stimulates the growth of new skin cells and prevents sun damage and aging… Yes please I’ll take that! Even if your skin is spot and blemish prone this peel can work away the dirt and leave your skin and you feeling fresh as a daisy.

Dr Krystyna is based in Blush + Blow Fulham. Booking is super easy and I promise you’ll feel refreshed after a visit with her expertise. By clicking here you can book an appointment.

“Treatments take place at Blush and Blow – Fulham’s newest blow dry and beauty bar, located in Parsons Green. It’s a relaxed, luxurious and fun environment where you’ll be looked after you from the moment you walk in. Plus, if you’re a busy mum, there’s a safe, fun and friendly place for your children to play, free of charge, while you’re being treated.”

The Methuen Arms an award winning Great British inn where hospitality meets fabulous food and drink

What did Lauren do next?

Being part of the Luxuria Lifestyle VIP ambassadors team has given me many amazing privileges including our stay in the charming village of Corsham this weekend at The Methuen Arms. And what a treat it was.

The Methuen Arms first opened as a public house in 1608 ( initially known as the Red Lion Inn) and is set in an idyllic chocolate box town just eight miles from the postcode picture worthy city of Bath.

The grounds are somewhat historical and, with a famous past, is well-known for it previous owners. The Methuen Arms finally got its name in 1799 after the Methuen family took it over. The full history of the building can be found online when booking. Home to beautifully designed Georgian architecture, cobbled streets and parkland. The hotel is just one of Corsham’s hidden gems.

With it being my first weekend in Corsham, ever, the Methuen Arms staff and hospitality made us feel right at home.

The Georgian style conversion has a mature garden surrounding its beautiful architecture. Lit with fairy lights at nighttime, it’s cobbled pathway leads you to a very welcoming entrance where you are greeted by staff and handed your individual room key and given a mini tour of the grounds.

The room it’s self was so quaint. Farrow and Ball paint complimented original and exposed wooden beams on the walls. Softly lit, the room had a wholly calm and relaxing atmosphere. The room is equipped with a King Sized bed, comfy arm-chair, a retro Roberts DAB radio, flat screen television, mini fridge and a selection of tea, coffee and scrumptious ginger biscuits if you got a bit peckish. Have I even mentioned the en-suit yet? That was best part! His and hers wash basins, a waterfall shower and a stunning roll top bath centred the room as the main masterpiece. And yes I did opt for both a bath then followed by a shower straight afterwards.

Once exploring the grounds was ticked off our list, we made our way to our dinner reservation. It was an extremely delightful experience. The Methuen Arms’s head Chef, Leigh Evans, is an award-winning cook formerly known from Coombe Grove Manor, The Chequers and The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath. Knowledge is that he built a team of dedicated individuals. I found the food unique, British but with a personalised twist as each dish catered for all. Whether you fancied pub grub or something more formal it’s all there to choose from. It was superb to have local food prepared and cooked with such care. The staff tastefully picked both of my starter and main course. To start: Seared Scallops – Crispy ham hock, black treacle, lime, cauliflower, granny smith, curry powder (gfo) For my main: Venison Haunch – Smoked garlic dauphinoise, red cabbage, blackberry, onion ash (gf) I must say both dishes were driven with sublime taste and both were presented with such detail.

The ethos of the room was relaxed, modern art and music juxtaposed old tapestries and original features which filled the room with the right ambiance. A very enjoyable mood floated over the guests keeping it civilised throughout the night.

Night time. We slept like babies. 100% Egyptian cotton linen between our toes, deluxe blankets and luxurious feather pillows to rest your head after a long week of work meant I dreamt all through the night. 100 Acre Bath products, and fluffy towels made the morning all the more easier to bath and shower and get ready for breakfast.

Breakfast included the option for a full English, and a selection of homemade granola, cereal, fruits & pastries, juices, jams, yoghurts… and much more.

What could have topped off our stay more than what we had received already? Yep you guessed it! A visit to the Bath Christmas Market. Half an hour out of Corsham is the enchanting City of Bath. The beautiful limestone architecture is topped off with its German style Christmas markets. Churros covered in melted chocolate, hot dogs, pulled pork buns and freshly made waffles filled the air with original Christmas aromas. Mini boutique stalls perfect for Christmas shopping, Carol singers and fake snow only make it more idilic for a pre -Christmas getaway.

And one last thing… I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas! Trying to cram in all my winter antics now as in 17 days time I’ll be going somewhere hot! Any guesses where?

Thank you so much for taking your time out to have a quick read. Now off you pop and enjoy the rest of your day, wherever you may be!

P. S. Here’s a photo of me trying to tackle some Churros at the Christmas market… Photo captured right before chocolate sauce dropped all down my face… I’m a child at heart🤫😜💫

Remember remember the 5th November @ YoSushi 🍣🍱

YO peeps! Its it’s been a little while since something food orientated has made its way onto my blog, so I thought it was probably about time that I tell you about one of my all time favourite food places, and what’s more is I got to venture here with one of my closest friends!

Today we rolled down to Yo Sushi on the Tottenham Court Road for a bit of Sunday Funday therapy, courtesy of Luxuria Lifestyle as one of their brand ambassadors.

October 2017 has marked the 20th anniversary of Yo Sushi. With over 66.7 million customers over the last 20 years enjoying over 533.6 million pieces of sushi, and we were lucky enough to be invited to the Tottenham Court Road restaurant.

Being a bit of a foodie myself, Sushi and Japanese street food has always been my go-to dish. From the age of 8 I would walk up to the end of my street and order 20 prawn nigeris from the local Japanese store. My mother then thought it be best to introduce me to my first sushi restaurant. YO Sushi! So it was so fantastic to be a part of celebrating its 20th birthday.

YO Sushi offers food for a range of occasions; a quick pit stop after a day of shopping, a lunch option at work, taking the children out for something different, or even if you fancy something a bit more sophisticated, YOsushi can cater for all.

Each dish is freshly made and carefully handcrafted. It was great getting to chat with the chef to find out what training goes into working at YOSushi. He’d told us he’d been taking classes for 6 years! I’m thinking of enrolling myself on to a class and giving it a go!

The actual restaurant was spacious both indoor and alfresco. It was a bit chalky today so we opted for the indoor seating!

What brought back memories was the iconic ‘kaiten’ conveyor belt which floated round fresh hand made dishes. These ranged from mini sashimi, sushi rolls, the most gloriously tasty seaweed covered in soya sauce and sesame seeds, Nigeri and other Japanese delicacies.

After finishing our starters we moved our eyes onto the hot food section on the menu. Our waitress Emily recommended some of the street food including the hoisin duck Bao, NEW furikake fries (which by the way I TOTALLY recommend) and lastly the chicken katsu curry.

  • NEW Ferikake fries: Japanese style fries coated in sriracha mayo and sprinkled with yuzu furikake, sesame, aonori and smoky bonito akes. 523 kcal
  • Hoisin duck Bao: Hoisin duck with house pickled cucumber

in a u y bun.

226 kcal

  • Chicken Katsu: Juicy chicken thigh in Japanese panko, drizzled with fruity tonkatsu sauce. 164 kcal

Robin Rowland, CEO of YO sushi said: “20 years after we opened our first location we are thrilled to open our latest restaurant in the heart of central London. Situated on Tottenham Court Road we are bringing something new and fresh to the area, giving nearby businesses and city shoppers a more exciting way to enjoy their meal.”

If you fancy a visit here are the opening times:

YO! Tottenham Court Road serves food from 11:30am – 10pm Monday – Saturday and 11:30am – 9:30pm every Sunday.

Crazy Bear Hotel

So where did Lauren go next?

Oh my goodness this place is truly remarkable. From the moment you walk in until the second you leave every part is a beautiful experience. Picture a Moroccan dinner crossed with a party scene out of The Great Gatsby. It’s a definite yes when it comes to a couple’s getaway. Had a row? Valentines? Or even just a pleasant weekend away. This place is worth a booking.

We checked in around 3:30pm on Friday, greeted by two glasses of bubbles and in cute crystal flutes. Our bags were taken directly to our room prior to a mini tour of each restaurant and the pool side for some more alcoholic beverages. Cocktails anyone?

The room:

Well where do I begin? Covered floor to ceiling in cushioned velvet, soft and dim lighting, royal red curtain drapes and a four poster bed complemented by a goose feather down duvet (King-size). My partner and I’s facial expression must have been shockingly diverting for the porter and I can imagine we may have looked a little embarrassed by the leather stairs which lead up into the ceiling. What were they for? The porter presented us our room he then advanced to pull back the thick curtain of which behind was the most spectacular waterfall shower. Golden bathroom fittings with black and gold marble across the wall, floor and ceiling. Wow. It was a little Christian Grey. I loved it.

Image result for the crazy bear beaconsfield

We popped open the bottle of champagne, which was very kindly left in our room, filing two champagne flutes with well-deserved bubbles. When I say well deserved we were stuck in traffic up the M25 for about an hour. Shock. So yes well deserved. We promenaded down the stairs to be seated by the bar, pool side, before getting ready for our 7:30pm sitting at The Crazy Bears own Thai restaurant.

Getting ready in the room was extraordinary. Waterfall shower, champagne, music, funky spot lights; obviously I had to get a photo of myself in the moment or did it really happen? Just look at that room!

Here comes my forever favourite writing topic…

The food:

I was very content at this point. The boyfriend did good. A hotel on my wish list ticked off joined by one of my favourite meals. Thai. So we both settled for something different. Seeing as he doesn’t eat fish, he went for a chicken satay starter. I opted for tempura prawns with a sweet ‘n’ sticky sauce. Mouth wateringly yummy. The mains were just as good. Green Thai curry, steak and pad Thai on attractive plates covered our table and finally complimented by a bottle of French White wine.

Now, I have to tell you an amusing story. I hope this sounds as funny as when it actually happened. Colin and Julie sat to the table on our left and introduced themselves. We started engaging in conversation and discussions of travels, food and other classical couple talk materialised throughout our meal.

My boyfriend (Harry) and Colin, for some outstanding reason, thought each other were named… Gary. Gary? Surely I couldn’t let this go on all night. They spoke in confidence to one and other replying to each other as Gary. The other couple to our right clearly clocked the mistake at the beginning along with myself. I proceeded to send Harry a text under the table to make him aware of his slipup.

Harry:“Is your name Gary?”

Colin: “No? It’s Colin!”

Harry:“I am so sorry I thought your name was Gary! I’m so embarrassed”

Colin:“I thought your name was Gary!”

It was quite clear after this that we spent the whole night laughing away and exchanging stories.

The next morning, we awoke in a pitch black room, the soft lighting naturally woke us up. We did have to rush down to breakfast as it finished at 11am. It was 10:30am! Whoops.

Breakfast was wonderfully pleasant. Very simple. Continental. Which I hadn’t had in yonks so it was lovely to just have the basics; Cereal, eggs, ham, cheese, fruit and fresh filter coffee, all of which set us up for our journey home.

Home time…I want to go back so much! Writing this a week later really makes me blue. We have both agreed we are going to go again next summer and I’m so excited! I 1 million percent recommend The Crazy Bear. I cannot fault it. The service standards are impeccable, the room cleanliness is immaculate, the food is scrumptious and the atmosphere is dazzling.

You can purchase a deal at the moment on Groupon. You can find this deal by clicking here where you can pick your room and price plan.

I hope you enjoyed this read as much as I enjoyed writing it! I certainly enjoyed visiting The Crazy Bear. A huge thank you to the bf for spoiling me rotten on my Birthday. He ceases to surprise me everyday.

Lots of love Sheps x

DRUNCH

Now if I can recommend any restaurant it would be DRUNCH. Five star service and impeccable hospitality, I’m going to say now, I spent 5 hours at this place. Each course lured me into staying for the next. First came the cocktails, then the mains and then out came that heavenly cheesecake.

I didn’t even know I liked cheesecake until I devoured the whole thing in one. Well… with a little help from my friend who sat enduringly hungover in the corner next to me.

So let me set the scene for you. Soft jazz music, velvet buttoned sofas and on tables perched crystal glasses. It felt like Gatsby took a step into the millennium. I positioned myself in the far corner. This way I could observe my surroundings. Art hung on the wall and outside fellow Londoners were enjoying shish which filled the air with fruity aromas. A very idyllic Instagram setting.

Okay. Hope fully I’ve grabbed your attention. Listen to this whilst you finish reading to immerse yourself a little more: 🎵 Iris Mohammed Loren’s dance.Listening? Great I have your attention.

The food you ask? Oh well be patient! Let’s talk cocktails first. Now if you enjoy your picturesque photos and need a good Instagram snap, DRUNCH has it sorted for you. Take a look below:

I mean who doesn’t want a lil painting of Mona Lisa floating in a pretty pink drink. Cute right? And yes, that is Candy floss with a tiny origami swan on the next! I think that bartender deserves a round of applause for his skills in mixology.>

Wearing a little PLT number: Skirt and dress knitted Co-ord- Darling. £25<<<<<<<<<

DRUNCH: Please can we just appreciate the name of this restaurant for a second. Us millenniums are super lazy but this abbreviation has us covered. DRUNCH– Drinks/ Lunch/ brunch Lets have it altogether.

Phenomenal eggs royal. Perfectly cooked and exquisitely scrumptious.

There’s first for everyone, I tried an Acai bowl for the first time. Delightfully light and full of flavour. 10/10 for both dishes. I’m easily pleased but it’s certainly a restaurant I’d feel comfortable bringing my mother too. She’s a woman of fine taste.

Ideal of Sweden phone cases making a little appearance 🇸🇪

Don’t go yet! You’ll miss the best part! Did someone say Cheese cake earlier???

So I will admit. The only cheesecake I’ve EVER liked has been my dad homemade blueberry cheesecake. It wasn’t until today I found my new love. Salted Caramel Popcorn Cheesecake. Oh my… I mean. Sorry to sound clique but this cheesecake was a match made in heaven. I highly recommend this as a desert when you finally decide that DRUNCH is also your new favourite lunch spot.

“Isn’t he gorgeous ?”

Well, if I haven’t made you want to visit DRUNCH after showing you how mouth-watering celestial their food is then give me your address because I’m taking you there now.

DRUNCH is the new way to Brunch x

Let’s be confident!

It’s so hard to be confident within yourself in this day and age. We spend minutes, hours, days just looking in the mirror, scrolling through Instagram and other forms of social media trolling ourselves until we feel rotten inside.

Everyone is guilty of it. I’m guilty of it. Why? Because I am a normal person. We see photos of stick thin models, bronzed goddesses and Botox filled faces and think to ourselves, “I don’t look that nice compared to them”. I have recently been reading a fabulous book which I was inspired by @healthchefsteph to read after seeing it on her Instagram story. I thought that I would give this book a go and I can honestly say it has made me see the better half of me.

Feel the fear and do it anyway

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Feel-Fear-Anyway-Indecision-Confidence/dp/0091907071

The clue is in the book’s title. I have now been reading this for just over a week and have almost finished its glorious pages. Susan Jeffers, the author of this book, has rebuilt the confidence within me.

“Feel the fear and do it anyway”

She speaks about fear as if it’s not even a word. Like it’s just a fragment of our imagination. A mindset that’s stops us from doing something out of the ordinary.

From reading this book I have excelled in my blogging. Because I’ve thought, “fuck it“. Oh my goodness I swore! I shouldn’t do that. Naughty me.

Over the last few weeks I’ve felt more confident than ever. I’ve stopped comparing myself to others and focused on ME. Yes, its selfish right? No.

I’m in my early 20’s and these are your selfish years.

I have been in some dark places growing up but I finely feel like I have a purpose in life. I feel confident. Not all the time, sometimes I feel super rubbish about myself but its okay to feel that way.

So I urge you to do the same thing! Stop comparing yourself, read a book, do something out of the ordinary! Feel the fear and do it anyway.

Peace out ✌🏽 Love of love Shep’s x

Hungover much?

So I’m sat here on my Sunday evening thinking, “Wouldn’t it be quite comical to post something about how hung over all of our little souls probably are today?”

We all know that gut feeling. Nothing makes it worse than knowing you slut dropped your way to Vom Town. Those pungent self-loathing blurry memories from the night before. Right now you have the inability to talk any sense at all. You try to move out of bed or even get your head out of the bin your best mate put by the side of you the night before. It’s a strange and confusing time: Do I eat? , What do I drink? Water…. I need water… GASP. Everything is a challenge. I have assembled together a list of things to make you feel better the next time your head is pounding from slamming too many tequila shots. All you need is feel-better food, lots of fluid, a movie and a long steamy bubble bath.

So here’s your I feel like death day guide to surviving a hangover.

1. No Alarm!

Darlings, wake up naturally. There is nothing worse than forgetting to switch your weekly work alarm off and it startles you from your deep dehydrated sleep at 7:00am. Switch it off before the weekend and let the light outside wake you up naturally. Although you’ll be feeling dearly dreadful, a lil bit of natural light isn’t a bad thing to wake you up.

2. Paracetamol and Berroca at the ready!

Ladies and gents. Yes gents too. Before you set out on your night of partying put a little gift box by the side of your bed. Paracetamol, water bottle, berroca, make-up wipes, face oil and a fruit smoothie. Put it right next to where you rest your little head before bedtime. You’ll feel thankful the next day when you wake up feeling like a piece of shrivelled fruit.

3. Fresh bed sheets.

Ok so this might be a bit of a challenge. If you can change those alcohol scented sheets and swap them for Lenor scented ones along with a fresh pair of jammies. Nothing is better than clean sheets.

4. “BACON IS GOOD FOR ME”

Your best friend when you wake up will be food. From a full English to Avocado on toast have as much carb loaded food as you possibly can. Today your allowed to bloat like a balloon.Today is your day. Feel fabulous.

5. Ye old Classic movie.

Ahh it’s Sunday after all. Put on your fave movie, dim the lights and get comfy.

6. Fresh air is good for you.

Now if you’ve managed to put in fresh bed sheets, you’ve got enough energy to get out. Fresh air will only make you feel better. Take a walk or if your feeling sorry for yourself stick your head out the window at the very least.

7. Shower or bath.

Depending on what you’re doing on your day of dread; Either a shower or a bath will sort your life out. If your off out for the day – Have a refreshing cold shower. It will wake you up! If you’ve been a slob and just want to wind down. Run the bath, pour the bubbles in, light some candles. Revert back to tip number 5 and set up your Disney film. (Please don’t be silly and in your hungover state electrocute yourself. K thanks)

Monday is near approaching and I’m getting quite hangry so I’m going to leave you with my seven top tips and I’m going to wake my boyfriend up so he can make me something yummy.

Lots of love and I hope your hangovers aren’t too atrocious today x

Berry Blast Breakfast Smoothie 🍓🍇🍒

Let me tell you about my little scrummy secret…. The hint is in the name.

BERRY BLAST BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE

Oh mother this is good!

I absolutely used to HATE breakfast. Let’s face it, no one really can be bothered to make a nutritious breakfast in the morning unless it’s cooked and put in front of you. I’m lazy okay?

So I’m about to let you into a little secret of mine. My go-to breakfast smoothie which keeps me going until lunch time. For me, this smoothie has made such a change in, not only my diet, but it helps give me the right nutritional balance I need to help set my day up correctly.

So your now wondering what’s in it right? Ok. Let me tell you….

Ingredients

  • Handful of Strawberries (Cut their little green hair off)
  • Handful of frozen Blueberries/ Blackberries and raspberries – They don’t have to be frozen but I tend to put them in the freezer once brought to keep them fresh.
  • Half a banana – if you like it sweet this is a must!
  • 5 Seconds worth of coconut milk. You heard, literally carefully pour 5 second worth in.
  • Two scoops of your favourite protein powder (Mine being Cookies and cream by Cute nutrition.)

https://cutenutrition.com/collections/weight-loss?constraint=cookies-cream

Make sure it is all nicely fitting into a blender and SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE senora!

Blend the smoothie until completely blended (Ya don’t want any unwanted chunky bits of fruit!) Pour into a smoothie glass or on the go? Protein shaker (Usually £5 from any health store or supermarket).

Bobs your uncle! No he’s not…

Honestly, I wouldn’t be up writing at 7am before making it myself if I didn’t think it was worth it! So if your reading this post this morning and have some time after… Give it a try you will thank me later. Have a super amazing day and enjoy your week wherever you are or whatever you’re doing.

Love Sheps x

You could also try making an Acai bowl (not my image) by chopping up fruit, adding a scoop of peanut butter and some oats) YUM

ICONIC London

Can I just say that I am NOT  a makeup artist or, in any way, have a hand like Charlotte Tilbury. I am a complete amateur when it comes to applying makeup, but like anyone, I do my best! If you haven’t already invested in the Iconic range, I hope what I’m about to say changes your mind… Or not but either way I love their products.

I’ve always been curious about their highlighters and especially their foundation sticks. But it wasn’t until last week, when I received the BEST parcel at work, my make up game was changed forever.

So here’s me. “Hey me“, no make up, I’d just got out the shower ready for full pre-going out prep. Excuse the slightly crossed eyes. That sun was bloody blinding.

I don’t really use a lot of make up and I try to not 🎂🍰 myself too thickly in foundation but I have quickly made friends with ICONICs foundation sticks. They’re so light but the coverage t gives you is so natural looking it makes me want to cry. Ladies if you haven’t already purchased you need to now.

The highlighter is just a little bit of a girls dream come true. I’m a sucker for a pretty highlighter and I have come across sooooo many OTT ones which, to be quite frank, make me look like a unicorn on popping candy. 🦄🍭 It’s never a great look when you have too much on. But this one! The cute little packaging it comes in makes it all the more fun to put on.

So, drum roll please!!!! Rather impressed with my makeup skills here! But ladies, don’t forget, although make up can transform your face and can give us a little bit of self-confidence. Don’t forget how beautiful you are naturally 💗

The perfect day

I woke up Monday morning with positivity flooding out of me. The sun was shining, I felt refreshed, I had so much planned to make it the perfect bank holiday Monday.

Brunch at The Chiltern firehouse:

If you’re looking for class The Chiltern Firehouse is your new favourite hangout.

My grandparents and I made reservation here Monday morning for Brunch. My granddad, being a local, knew the doorman so we were greeted and looked after superbly.

img_7965-1

The Chiltern is Alfresco dining at its best. Little tables and sofas with crystal drinking glasses placed on top, covered by flowered foliage. The sunshine gave it the perfect setting for a spot of brunch.

Half an hour later we were seated inside.

The Chiltern Fire house is famously known for being an old fire station and was established in 1889 and converted in 2013 into one of London iconic hot spots.

The food was exquisite. As we went for brunch, I couldn’t resist the Eggs Benedict. Fresh ham, gluten-free bread – just for me, the BEST hollandaise sauce which was super rich in flavor and super creamy. This was topped off by a freshly squeezed OJ.

Off for some shopping!

I planned on browsing Zara’s latest collections however found myself in Bershka! A first time for me visiting this shop. I picked up some mega cute outfits. Of course, I kept it all within my monthly spending. Come on now, let’s all admit, we need to treat ourselves once in a while but not all of us are made of money. Right?
